Belfast City Council has won the 'Centre Move' award, an international award designed to best practices that have helped improve movement around city centres.
Awarded by the Association of Town Centre Management (ACTM), it has rewarded Belfast's visitor signage scheme, featuring numerous signposts and information boards at strategic locations in the city.
As a result of the award, officials from the council are now being asked to advise other cities on how to introduce similar schemes.
Councillor William Humphrey, chairman of the council's development committee says: "The Council has long recognised that making it easier for people to find their way around is one way of making their stay more enjoyable".
