Anolis Lighting completes installation at Mall of Africa photo: Peter Hassall European LED manufacturer Anolis Lighting have completed an installation of a thousand LED light fixtures at the Mall of Africa in Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa.
The lighting, inspired by the bright lights of Las Vegas, was designed by architectural lighting designer Deryl Jan.
Deryl worked with lead architect Tia Kanakakis, to create lighting to enhance mood and atmosphere.
Deryl selected Anolis due to the manufacturer’s willingness to customise and adapt its technology to suit the brief.
Deryl said: “I was extremely confident of the quality and performance of Anolis so I was keen to stay with the brand for this, and also because they were so knowledgeable and helpful in actioning the bespoke adjustments necessary for the lights to work in this environment.”
The fixtures illuminate three major areas of the mall including: the roof, trees in the adjacent City Park and an underpass, constructed with a new road to enable vehicle access to the Mall.
